Do you know if you died today where you would be going? The Bible clearly teaches how to make it to Heaven. We all think we have to be a good person and do good deeds to get to Heaven. If it were true that salvation was based on good works, we would assume that Mother Theresa is in Heaven. We also would assume that Adolph Hitler would be going to Hell. But where is that middle ground? Where do you fit in between those two people? You might say that I am better than my friend, but how do you know your friend is going to Heaven? Do you think God would make something as important as your salvation a guessing game?
It is not your good works or your good deeds that get you into Heaven; it is your faith in Jesus Christ. In the Bible, Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God". Even one sin is enough to keep you from Heaven -- no matter how many good deeds you have done in your life! Your salvation is a gift from God. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith -- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -- not by works, so that no one can boast". Salvation is a gift from God; you can't earn your way to Heaven. There is nothing you can do except trust in Jesus for your salvation. Roman 6:23 states, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord". Your sins cost you Hell! "The wages of sin is death". That means you are going to Hell based on your sins. "But the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord". Your faith in Jesus Christ is your way to Heaven. (John 14:6) Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me". There is only one way to eternal life. Trusting in anything else except Jesus Christ will send you to Hell. Also in the Bible -- (Revelation 3:20) "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me". Jesus is at your door right now. He is knocking. He will not break your door down. He asking you to open the door and invite Him in. He will not force Himself on you. It is up to you to receive Him. Only you can do it for yourself; no one can do it for you. If you would like to receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and know for sure you are going to Heaven, you need to do only a couple of things. First, admit you are a sinner, lost and separated from God. Second, repent from your sins and agree to change your ways. Third, believe that Jesus Christ died for you on the cross and rose from the grave, in full payment of your sins. Then, through prayer, invite Jesus to come into your heart and control your life by the Holy Spirit. Receive Him as your Lord and Savior. If you would like to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, pray this prayer right now: Dear Lord Jesus I know I am a sinner and I need your forgiveness. I believe You died
for my sins and I want to turn from my sins and follow you. I now invite You to come into my heart and life. I will trust You as my Lord and Savior. In Jesus name, Amen. |
